The lost dungeon 2 web

The Lost Dungeon is a time-limited event whose first occurrence took place in August 2020 and lasted 7 days. It came back in July 2021 with a lot of changes.

This event is kind of a mini-game in which you can earn rewards by defeating Dungeon monsters using tokens. You may also earn rewards at the end depending on your rank among other players, based on how far you went into the Dungeon.

In-game Information[]

Here is the info displayed in game:

HOW TO PLAY (2021)

RULE:

1.You initially have 50 tokens. The token will regenerate by 1 every 10 minutes if you have fewer than 100 tokens (effective the moment you enter the event). You can buy 30 tokens for 10 FP. There's no limit on the amount of tokens bought with FP.

2.Your Health and Base Damage in this event are generated based on your total Stats.

3.The leaderboard is made according to the highest stage reached by each player in this event. Ranking rewards will be sent 24 hours after the event ends.

ATTACK:

1.All attack cost 1 token to attack a monster each time

2.You can inflict 3 types of damage, and you need to improve them in different ways. Also, a certain type of damage may have an additional effect on a boss on a certain floor.

3.Physical attacks cause Physical damage, Magic attacks cause Magic damage, Elemental damage is provided through the power and some Dungeon Trinkets.Neither magic damage nor elemental damage can critically strike

4.Monkey King takes effect in this event.

POWER:

1.Every time you pass a stage, you can get one power (choose one from three random powers). You can have up to 10 powers. When the limit is reached, you need to decide whether to replace a power you currently have when you get new power.

2.When [Fire/Frost/Thunder Enchantment] is triggered during an attack, these enchantments can bring extra elemental damage and provide special enchanting effects.

3.[Fixed damage] means it will not receive any power or Dungeon Trinket bonus

4.For powers marked with [Stacks up to X times], if the number of such powers in your possession exceeds the stacking limit, only X stacks will take effect.

DROP:

1.Monsters in every layer may drop items or Upgrade Crystals, while bosses will definitely drop items and Upgrade Crystals. The higher the layer, the better the rewards will be.

2.You can get Dungeon Dust when you defeat a monster. The dust dropped by each monster will drop a fixed amount of dust. The more tokens you spend on a monster, the more extra dust it will drop.If you die, you can't get the dust.

3.Dungeon Dust will be emptied after the event.

HOW TO PLAY - SELECT TRINKET (2021)

1.You can use Upgrade Crystals here to enhance your Dungeon Trinkets, and you can select the Trinkets you will carry.

2.You cannot replace or upgrade Trinkets after entering the Dungeon.

3.Upgrade Crystals will drop in the dungeon adventures, and a Upgrade Crystal can only upgrade a Trinket if they are of the same quality.

4.The level of the Trinkets and the number of Crystals will be retained in each event but the Dungeon Dust will not be retained.

5.You can carry no more than 2 trinkets of each quality.

HOW TO PLAY (2023)

RULE:

1.You initially have 60 tokens. The token will regenerate by 1 every 10 minutes if you have fewer than 60 tokens (effective the moment you enter the event). You can buy 30 tokens for 10 FP. There's no limit on the amount of tokens bought with FP.

3.The leaderboard is made according to the highest stage reached by each player in this event. Ranking rewards will be sent 24 hours after the event ends.

4.Monkey King takes effect in this event.

ATTACK:

1.You can use two types of attacks, each of which only consumes 1 dungeon token.

2.Magic attack: Deal magic damage and 1 time element damage to the monster, can trigger enchanting skills but cannot trigger critical hit

  • 1) Flame enchantment: Your Final Damage +120%.
  • 2) Wind Enchantment: Double the number of additional elemental damage dealt by magic attacks.
  • 3) Water Enchantment: Recovery HP equal to 5*the number of elemental damage dealt.

3.Attack: Physical Attack: Cause 1 physical damage to the monster, cannot trigger enchantment skills but can trigger critical hit

POWER:

2.For powers marked with [Stacks up to X times], if the number of such powers in your possession exceeds the stacking limit, only X stacks will take effect.Different qualities do not share the upper limit.

3. All bonuses of the same type given by power and trinkets have a common cap.

Trinkets[]

You can use Trinkets to help you with additional permanent powers (if the Trinket is equipped) during your runs.

There are 6 different Trinkets which are more or less powerful.

Trinkets can be unlocked (and then upgraded) by using Upgrade Crystals, obtained by defeating monsters in the Dungeon. Regular monsters may drop Flawed Upgrade Crystals sometimes (or even better crystals after a certain stage), while boss monsters will always drop them and in larger quantities.

Flawed Upgrade Crystals can be alchemized to make Fine Upgrade Crystals which in turn can be alchemized to make Flawless Upgrade Crystals.
Common Trinkets require Flawed Crystals, while Epic ones require Fine Crystals and Legendary ones require Flawless Crystals.

You can only unlock and equip Trinkets between runs. Which means you need to die in the Dungeon in order to be able to use the Upgrade Crystals you obtained, and before starting a new run.

Unlocking Trinkets slots

You can have at most 3 Trinkets equipped at once.

Initially you can only equip one. There are requirements to unlock the two additional slots:

  • Slot #2: Defeat 50 monsters OR pass level 4-10
  • Slot #3: Defeat 80 monsters OR pass level 6-10

Powers[]

Powers (also called Skills) are abilities you pick up while climbing the Lost Dungeon. Every time you defeat a monster, you are presented with three random Powers from which you can pick one. You can have up to 10 Powers at any time. Once you have 10, if you wish to use a new Power you will have to replace one.

It appears orange Powers can start dropping at stage 5-1 (verified drop at 5-2), while red Powers can start dropping at stage 9-1 (verified drop at 9-1).

Rewards[]

End Rewards[]

At the end of the event, rewards are awarded based on your final ranking, which depends on your best performance (highest stage reached) among all your tries. These rewards are as follows:

Title Gloucester Tungsten ore Legendary General Chest Free Chest Roll
Final Gloucester Tungsten Ore Legendary Chest Free Chest Roll
TOP 1 1 3 5 10
TOP 2-10 1 2 4 10
TOP 11-25 - 2 3 10
TOP 26-75 - 2 2 9
TOP 76-150 - 1 2 8
TOP 151-300 - 1 1 7
TOP 301-600 - - 1 6
TOP 601-1000 - - - 5
TOP 1001-2000 - - - 4
TOP 2001-3000 - - - 3
TOP 3001-5000 - - - 2
TOP 5001-10000 - - - 1

Note: If you reached a certain stage first you'll stay at a higher rank than those who reached the same stage later than you. So even though your performance is mainly conditioned by your starting Health and Damage, refilling tokens and/or having a good Monkey King can help getting a slightly better rank.

Monsters Rewards[]

Defeating monsters may reward 3 different types of things:

  • Dust
  • Flawed Upgrade Crystal
  • A variety of other rewards such as Consumables

All monsters will drop dust, and regular monsters may drop Flawed Upgrade Crystals or other rewards, while boss monsters will always drop Flawed Upgrade Crystals (in greater quantities) and an additional reward.

The rewards get better the higher you go in Stages.

Your Dungeon Stats[]

Your Dungeon Health and base Damage are determined by your player stats. They are determined at the moment you enter the Dungeon and won't change until you die and start over.

Health formula:

Dungeon Health = 2500 + (All stats)*0.4

Where "All stats" include both raw and bonus (green) stats for Energy, Stamina, Attack, Defense and Health, with the exception of the Health Rune which doesn't count.

Bonus stats can come from anything: Generals abilities, Item Archives, Runes (Attack and Defense), Chaos Gem boosts, Furnace...

The things which don't affect your Dungeon Health are: your level, your Damage and Health Runes, your General Alliance stats (but the abilities matter) and Equipment stats.

Base Damage formula:

Base Damage = ???

Your base Damage also depends on your stats. It looks like everything or at least most of your different stats are taken into account but it still remains to be verified.

Base Critical Chance:

Base Critical Chance = 10%*

*Conjectured using a small sample of 500 hits

This is your Critical Chance before you pick up any Power.

Critical hits (without any boosting Powers) always deal double your regular Damage, and never triple as Critical hits do on regular monsters in the game.

Notes:

  • Making a loadout specifically for entering the Dungeon can help getting higher Health and base Damage.
  • In this event, for the same amount of Skill Points allocated, High BSI builds are greatly favored over high LSI builds for two reasons:
    • They can take advantage of Chaos Gems stats boosting powers to get much more value out of their invested Skill Points.
    • Skill Points invested in Stamina are much less efficient in this event: investing in any other stat will bring twice as much Dungeon Health.
  • Your Castle Age character does not affect the dungeon run at all once the you have started a dungeon. Your gear, general alliance, gems, pierce, etc do not matter.
    • There are 3 generals who are the exception to this. Layla, Monkey King, and Athena will all help during the dungeon. Monkey King will save tokens while attacking and Athena will boost damage. Layla will boost their effects.
    • The Elite Forgotten Knight armor also will provide a damage increase if worn during the dungeon.

The Lost Dungeon Monsters[]

When fighting monsters in the Lost Dungeon, only the stage you're on actually matters. The monster's form is purely cosmetic.

You will fight common monsters from stages X-1 to X-9 (for instance on Stage 2-7) and boss monsters every 10th stage (for instance on Stage 2-10).

There are 10 different common monsters in the Lost Dungeon:

Boss monsters are much stronger than the preceding common monsters; they have a lot more health and deal a lot more damage. It appears they can take the form of any existing monster in Castle Age (such as Typhonus, Mephistopheles, etc.).

I addition, at certain stages they can benefit from (or be handicapped by) "Monster Buffs".
